Lawrence Berkeley National Lab’s (LBNL, https://www.lbl.gov/) Applied Mathematics and Computational Research Division and the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC, https://crd.lbl.gov/divisions/amcr/applied-mathematics-dept/) have a joint opening for a Quantum/Hybrid Algorithm Postdoctoral Scholar to join the team.

In this exciting role, you will participate in an interdisciplinary quantum computing project. The project involves quantum and hybrid quantum-classical algorithms on NISQ-era superconducting quantum computers. As a quantum algorithms researcher, you will work closely with researchers at NERSC and quantum computing experimentalists at the Advanced Quantum Testbed on co-design of algorithms and experimental systems.

We are looking for a motivated Research Specialist to join our research on integrated quantum photonics. The project aims to develop integrated quantum light sources and detectors on a hybrid platform that combines lithium niobate nonlinear photonics and superconducting electronics. This platform will enable many highly desirable functionalities in quantum information applications, such as on-chip entanglement generation, microwave-optical transduction, and optical readout of superconducting devices.

The Quantum Imaging and Sensing Group in the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering is looking for a research scientist for a project in the field of quantum and nonlinear optics. The project is related to quantum interferometry of correlated photon pairs and its application in broadband infrared micro-spectroscopy of a specimen. (D. We seek a passionate and committed candidate to work on the fabrication and development of cyrogenic high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) devices for use in quantum transport measurements. The design of HEMT devices and the development of fabrication recipes for realising such devices will be a crucial area of work.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a capable and motivated candidate to join our research on integrated quantum and nonlinear photonics. The project aims to develop an integrated quantum photonic platform based on thin-film lithium niobate. Main device components to be developed include on-chip photon-pair sources, electro-optic modulators, frequency combs, and integrated superconducting single-photon detectors. The candidate will also have the freedom to explore other topics such as piezo-optomechanics, microwave-optical transduction, and superconducting circuits.

We seek a passionate and committed candidate to work on the fabrication and development of quantum devices with the long-term goal of building a scalable and error free quantum computer and related quantum metrology. The design of relevant quantum devices and the development fabrication recipes for realising such devices will be a crucial area of research and development.

We are seeking for an outstanding candidate to join in our project aimed at developing an innovative analytical platform combining optical microscopy, microfluidic devices and IR spectro-microscopy. The development of an optimized microfluidic set-up is one of a key elements of this interdisciplinary project. A new kind of such devices, compatible with both IR spectroscopy and optical microscopy, is required to allow for the observation of live biological samples (e.g. cells and tissues). Moreover, the microfluidic set-up need to be developed in junction with the optical system, which is based on and original approach using quantum correlation for the detection of IR signal (see A. Paterova et al., "Hyperspectral infrared microscopy with visible light", Science Advances, 6(4428), 2020).

The James C. Wyant College of Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona is seeking a candidate for the position of a research scientist with a strong theoretical background in quantum optics and quantum information theory. Desirable skills and background include: knowledge of quantum Shannon theory, phase space description of non-classical states of light, non-Gaussianity and entanglement measures, and an overall strong background in standard principles from electrical engineering such as linear systems theory, stochastic processes, and basic control theory principles.

The James C. Wyant College of Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona is seeking a candidate for a PI-eligible senior experimentalist research scientist, who will lead and oversee a substantial experimental project on quantum repeater development within the NSF-funded Center for Quantum Networks. The ideal candidate would have a strong graduate research experience in quantum non-linear optics with a focus on squeezed light generation and manipulation.
