Recent developments in quantum technology, both in theory and experiments, have opened new perspectives for exploring equilibrium and nonequilibrium properties of strongly correlated many-body systems. In recent years the focus have shifted from traditional entropic approaches to the study of more complex measures of quantum correlations such as entanglement spectrum, negativity, mutual information and etc.

The Physics of Information Group, at Instituto de Telecomunicacoes (in Lisbon, Portugal), is seeking to hire a Post-doctoral Fellow to develop research in quantum information theory or/and in quantum effects in biology.

The candidates are expected to have research experience in one of the above areas, or in general in: open quantum systems, quantum optics, condensed matter physics, biophysics, or information processing in biological systems.

Application timing

Applications should be submitted by 20 September 2015, but earlier applications are welcome.

We are happy to announce the opening of a two-year postdoctoral position in quantum information theory. The successful candidate will work at the interface of quantum nonlocality and the axiomatization of quantum mechanics with Profs. Miguel Navascués and Antonio Acín at the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (IQOQI) (Vienna, Austria) and the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO) (Barcelona, Spain), respectively. The succesful candidate will be based in Vienna and enjoy frequent collaborative visits to Barcelona.

Assistant Professor in Mathematical Physics (Fixed-term)
School of Mathematical Sciences, The Unversity of Nottingham
Salary: £34233 to £45954 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Applications are invited from outstanding candidates for the above post. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute substantially to maintaining and enhancing the School’s high standards in teaching and research.

Research assistants in informatics for the project "Semantic tensor networks for large data sets analysis" needed.
The project will be conducted in Quantum Systems of Informatics Group of Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics, Polish Academy of Sciences in Gliwice.

Ambitious graduates in computer science, physics or mathematics interested in distributed programming, data analysis, quantum information and multi-linear algebra are welcome to apply.
