Theory

Our group investigates quantum many-body systems coupled to an external environment. We are interested both in fundamental questions and in quantum technological applications of open quantum systems. Our main interests are:

• Dissipative quantum state engineering
• Steady state quantum phase transitions
• Quantum simulation
• Numerical methods for open many-body systems
• Topologically ordered states of matter

The research group is led by Prof. Markus Müller.

Our research in theoretical quantum physics is mainly centred on scalable quantum computation and quantum simulation, with a focus on the development of implementations in atomic, molecular and optical (AMO) systems.

Quantum Information Group is a research group in the Department of Physics at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. The group works on theoretical aspects of quantum information science.

The group is led by Dr. Yuan Haidong and works in the field of quantum information, quantum control, quantum metrology, and other quantum technologies. The group is theoretical but works closely with experimentists.

Astrocent was established on 1 July 2018 following an award of a grant of nearly 38 million PLN from the Foundation of Polish Science within the program of International Research Agendas.

SQIG is a research group of Instituto de Telecomunicações established on May 31, 2006, recognised as an associated research unit of the Department of Mathematics of IST, focused on logic and computation with emphasis on the fields of information security and quantum computation and information.
