Our work is currently dominated by using modern tools of machine learning for quantum technologies and artificial scientific discovery. Physics-wise, we care a lot about systems at the intersection between nanophysics and optics, such as optomechanical systems and quantum many-body physics.

Research Areas: quantum phase transitions, finite temperature entangled states, entanglement in many-body systems and general quantum correlations.

The Non-Standard Computation Group researches reality-based computing approaches that seek their inspiration from the natural world (mainly biology and physics). It explores new computational paradigms that break the classical computational assumptions.

The CMI group is interested in various research topics in condensed matter and quantum information. More specifically at present we are working on Graphene, Hybrid nanostructures, Josephson junctions, heatronics, solid state implementations of quantum computers, quantum communication and applications of quantum information to many-body systems. CMI is part of Scuola Normale Superiore and NEST laboratories.

The Mathematical Physics Research Group at Lebanon Valley College conducts interdisciplinary, collaborative research involving undergraduate students from mathematics, physics and computer science. Our primary research area is quantum information science. To date we have focused on questions surrounding the phenomenon of quantum entanglement.
