The quantum information theory group at the Institute for Theoretical Physics III, University of Düsseldorf (Germany), is inviting applications for a PhD position within the project ‘Multipartite quantum networks’ led by Gláucia Murta. The position is funded by the Cluster of Excellence Matter and Light for Quantum Computing (ML4Q).

We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious Ph.D. student in quantum condensed matter theory for a project on superconducting spintronics. The overall aim of the Ph.D. project is to theoretically explore and engineer enhanced and entirely new spintronics functionalities using superconducting hybrid structures. In spintronics, the electron spin instead of its charge is controlled and manipulated, which is both faster and more energy-efficient than today’s charge-based electronics.

PhD and Postdoc positions are available at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, to work on the optomechanical systems, quantum information processing with color centers in solids, continuous variable quantum information processing, and quantum phase transitions.

Applications are invited for two postdoctoral positions at the Centre for Quantum Computer Science, University of Latvia (https://www.quantum.lu.lv), lead by prof. Andris Ambainis. The Centre is among the strongest European research groups in quantum algorithms and currently consists of 18 researchers (including postdocs and graduate students).

Fully funded PhD studentship, for UK students, is available at the Univerity of York, to work on space quantum communications based on continuous variables. Please see the link https://www.findaphd.com/phds/project/quantum-communications-from-space/... for more information.

The Department of Mathematics of the University of Bologna has opened two 3-year RTD-A (Assistant Professor) positions in Mathematical Physics. Within the next three years the Mathematical Physics group plans to open two tenured positions.

The application procedure can be found at
https://bandi.unibo.it/s/apos5/rif-7960-bando-66-posti-rtd-a-pnrr-1

The application deadline is sharp at 12:00 of 30-12-2022.

We are seeking to appoint one motivated and collaborative Research Associate for two years in the first instance (with the possibility of extension) to work on the Samsung-Imperial project “Quantum computation for new materials/theory of solid-state qubits”.

• Job description
- Location: South Kensington Campus - On site only
- Position type: Full time, fixed term
- Salary £43,093 – £50,834 plus benefits

PhD and Postdoc positions are available in the Research Group "Quantum Information and Quantum Many-Body Physics", led by Norbert Schuch, at the University of Vienna.

Topics of interest cover the whole range from quantum information and computation to quantum many-body physics, with a focus on tensor networks and related methods.

We are looking for a talented and experienced Postdoctoral researcher to join the Department of Surface and Plasma Science at the MFF UK. In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to work in the field of atomic, molecular and optical physics, where you will use your expertise in the confinement of charged particles, specifically electrons, in radio frequency traps and laser-cooling to design and commission a state-of-the-art Paul trap operating at several GHz.
