We are seeking a talented Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) to work with Prof. Roger Colbeck on quantum random number generators (QRNGs). The project will either involve studying current commercial or near-commercial QRNGs with a view to accurately assess the amount of quantum randomness they can produce, or investigating the best way to make device-independent QRNGs more practical. This is a theoretical project that will involve interaction with experimental groups and/or commercial partners.

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the areas of quantum cryptography and quantum foundations at QICI Quantum Information and Computation Initiative of the Department of Computer Science, The University of Hong Kong.

ABOUT US

Oxford Ionics is a start-up building Quantum Computers to revolutionise industries from cybersecurity to material design. Quantum Computing offers a radically new way of building computers that harnesses the power of quantum physics to exponentially outperform conventional supercomputers. We are using unique trapped-ion technology to build the first Quantum Computers that can realise this potential.

Description
Post-doc positions are open in the Quantum Circuit group (http://physinfo.fr) at ENS Lyon! Projects open for application are using superconducting circuits for :
- near-field spin imaging,
- building a solid-state quantum memories,
- using neural network for state stabilization,
- creating new bosonic encodings.

Project description:

The research group of Alexander Jahn at the Free University of Berlin, Germany, is hiring one PhD student and one postdoctoral fellow to begin in early 2023. Both 3-year positions are funded by the Einstein Research Unit Perspectives of a quantum digital transformation.

We are looking for a post-graduate student to join the quantum information science group of Animesh Datta at the University of Warwick in October 2023 for a project entitled `Quantum-enhanced sensors for the gravity-quantum interface'.

The Theory of Quantum Systems Group invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researchers in the theoretical and computational condensed matter physics group of Prof. Michał Nowak. The research involves modelling of topological superconductors, superconductor-semiconductor heterostructures, topological Josephson junctions with the aim to focus on quantum transport and nonreciprocal phenomena.

An experimental Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) position based at the National Physical Laboratory is available via the EPSRC’s Quantum Technologies Hub in Quantum Communications. The successful candidate will officially be employed by the University of York.

The importance of quantum random number generators (QRNGs) is widely acknowledged — as component level devices to be incorporated into small systems such as mobile phones, for authentication purposes e.g. in IoT, and as essential components in quantum communication systems.
