The newly established Faculty of Computer Science at Ruhr-University in Bochum, Germany has several tenured and tenure-track openings. The positions are part of a concerted effort to strengthen the existing faculty and to foster collaborations with the recently established Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy (MPI-SP). We invite outstanding applicants from all areas of computer science.

The research groups of Profs. Thierry Bastin and John Martin are offering a new joint theoretical postdoctoral position in the field of quantum entanglement. The research project is encompassed in a large national effort aiming to prepare Belgium for the new era of quantum technologies via the Excellence Of Science (EOS) grant “Creating Highly Entangled Quantum States in the NISQ era” (CHEQS). This is the second postdoctoral position to be filled in this framework.

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the areas of quantum simulation, quantum cellular automata, quantum walks and quantum algorithmic at the

The IOP conference on “Advanced in Quantum Transport in Low-Dimensional Systems” will bring together experts from various areas of solid state quantum physics with a focus on quantum transport in low-dimensional systems. This will provide industry and academia with an opportunity to explore new possibilities in developing nanodevices and solid state quantum technologies.

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the areas of quantum foundations and quantum cryptography at QICI Quantum Information and Computation Initiative of the Department of Computer Science, The University of Hong Kong.

Julian Schwinger Foundation Ph.D positions on Rydberg atomtronics

Two Phd positions on the control of quantum correlations and phase coherence in systems of cold Rydberg atoms are available. They will form the core activity of the research grant ‘Rydberg atomtronics’, recently funded by the Julian Schwinger Foundation, coordinated by Luigi Amico and Oliver Morsch.

The Centre for Quantum Software and Information is recruiting for up to two Postdoctoral Research Associates or Postdoctoral Research Fellows to be involved in a new program analysing the utility of quantum computing for specific problem domains and developing tools to allow for estimating the size of an error corrected quantum computer to implement useful, large-scale algorithms. The position will be based at the centrally located UTS Campus in Ultimo and will report directly to Dr Simon Devitt.

You will develop theoretical schemes for quantum-enhanced sensing of novel phenomena such as gravitational effects in massive quantum superpositions, as well as the quantum aspects of gravity more generally. Particular emphasis is to be placed on the experimental feasibility of these schemes in interferometric and other setups on optical, mechanical, optomechanical or other platforms. Consequently, it will also develop methods of combating decoherence effects in these schemes, for instance by employing strategies from quantum information science.

We have postdoc openings in quantum information and computation theory at UCL, hosted in the Computer Science and Physics Departments with Profs. Toby Cubitt, Dan Browne and Lluis Masanes.
