PhD

PhD and postdoc positions are available in the group of Prof. Stefan Willitsch at the University of Basel (Switzerland) on the development of quantum technologies for single trapped molecular ions and their application in precision spectroscopy and the control of molecular collisions and interactions.

Project description

Your tasks as a PhD-student will include:

We are offering several PhD and postdoctoral positions to well-qualified and highly motivated researchers who would like to enhance their career in basic research in theoretical quantum science. The successful candidate will work in the research group led by Hans Briegel at the University of Innsbruck. We are a leading research group working in quantum information and computation with a strong focus on interdisciplinary research.

The groups of Cryptology and Quantum Information (Alexander May and Michael Walter) at Ruhr University Bochum are looking for an excellent candidate for a fully funded Ph.D. position as part of Quantum-Safe Internet (QSI), a Marie Curie Innovative Training Network (MSCA-ITN).

As a PhD candidate in Photonic Quantum Computing (m/w/d) at Q.ANT, you will perform studies on universal approaches for photonic quantum computing. You will focus on investigating new ways to prepare high-fidelity resource states required for universal quantum computing. Within the framework of a public research project, you will be jointly supervised in collaboration with a leading-edge professor at a renowned research university (Technical University of Denmark). This will allow you to build up experience in both the university- and industry-based quantum technology research.
