The Center for Optics and Photonics (CEFOP), www.cefop.cl , funded by the Basal Program for Scientific and Technological Centers of Excellence (CONICYT), is calling for four postdoctoral research positions in experimental and theoretical nonlinear optics and quantum information. Successful candidates will work at the recently inaugurated nonlinear optics laboratory in Santiago or at the quantum Information laboratory in Concepción.

A postdoctoral position is available in quantum information science at the University of Southern California in the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering. This position is for a research project involving the theory of weak and continuous measurement, quantum trajectories, and closed-loop quantum control, under the supervision of Prof. Todd Brun. The successful applicant should have a Ph.D.

The Advanced Technology Institute at the University of Surrey consists of approximately 50 researchers working on topics including III-V and silicon based light emitters and detectors, light-matter interaction in microstructured photonic materials, quantum computing with superconducting qubits, spintronics, and energy efficient photonic devices. The third International Iran Conference on Quantum Information (IICQI-12) will be held in Tehran, Iran, 8-12 September 2012. The conference will cover latest developments in theoretical and experimental quantum information science, feature talks by leading international researchers, and provide the opportunity for research discussions and collaborations between international and Iranian quantum information researchers. The conference is open to all participants regardless of nationality, gender, etc. but subject to the laws of Iran.
